The Marsanne country lies in a varied and fertile region at the Rhone Valley's edge.
On leaving the Montelimar North exit of the A7 motorway, you find yourself
entering a dozen or so villages of the Drome “Provencale”.
Often nestled in old fortifications, these villages hide some unexpected treasures. Lovers of old stone buildings will discover Romanesque churches or chapels not mentioned in any tourists' guide, with even the smallest of hamlets preserving and lovingly restoring their old fountains and public wash-houses.
Meanwhile, more energetic visitors will be attracted by the horse-riding, golf, tennis, swimming pools and tree-top adventure trails in the forest of Marsanne.
